Your first visit to our clinic is the initial consultation. This visit is for the purposes of determining what, if any problems exist with your spine and nervous system and how they relate to any symptoms you might be experiencing. We will conduct a thorough history and examination. Things we will be noting are past physical traumas, current symptoms, occupation and habits, exercise routines and so on. As well as history, we will analyse your posture, conduct a physical exam called motion palpation, check range of motion and conduct any relevant orthopedic and neurological tests. Following this, if clinically indicated we will take full spine X-rays with our state of the art digital X-ray system. Our team will help you understand what your nervous system does, how chiropractic is involved, what subluxation is and how we can help you.
Your second visit is where we conduct the first half of your report of findings. On this visit the doctor will go through all the findings with you and explain what they mean for your spine, nervous system and overall health, and how relevant your spine is to your symptoms. If X-rays have been taken, these will be marked and thoroughly explained in detail. On the completion of the report of findings the first adjustment will be conducted. This first adjustment is designed to determine how your body reacts to the adjustments, which will in part determine what sort of program to design for you.
Your third visit is the second half of the report of findings. On this visit we will discuss with you our recommendations for your care and tailor a program of chiropractic adjustments and specific postural exercises to achieve spinal correction and your health goals.
Burwood Wellness Chiropractic uses state of the art technology. The whole clinic is automated and computerised using RFID technology to recognise when patients have arrived and then directing them to the appropriate chiropractic table for their adjustments.
We have our own digital x-ray facilities for your convenience, where x-rays can be taken and analysed in house. This allows for accuracy and ensures quality is not compromised. In the case of an emergency it’s very important to have an in house x-ray apparatus. The clinic is completely automated and computerised.
Burwood Wellness chiropractic also offers a wide variety of care and payment options including HICAPS which allows health funds to be directly debited in the clinic. We cater and are fully certified for WORKERS COMP and VETERANS AFFAIRS cases.
Your health is your greatest asset. Your health enables you to enjoy your life to the fullest. A wellness approach to better health means optimum health and function of your body on all levels. Your body has the capacity to heal from injuries, disease and stress, and often we take it for granted. It’s not until we experience ill health or discomfort that we come to appreciate its vitality. Healthy living is achieved by adopting healthy habits, good posture, good nutrition, regular chiropractic care, exercise and rest.
Chiropractic care focuses on the nervous system, which is the most important part of a wellness lifestyle. The nervous system controls virtually every aspect of your body’s function. Maintaining correct function of the nervous system is essential, if you want to be and feel your best. Health is not just the absence of pain or symptoms. Beyond merely feeling better or preventing health problems, we all want to fully enjoy life by being our very best. True health is only possible with an optimally functioning nervous system
Corrective care focuses on correcting the posture of the body back to as close to normal as possible. This stage occurs after pain and inflammation are addressed and is a much more holistic approach with longer lasting results. If care is stopped when pain leaves, then often the problem will return, because the underlying cause of the problem has not been addressed. With corrective care, we address the cause of your problems so that recurrence is less likely and results are longer lasting. “ THERE IS A VAST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TREATING EFFECTS AND ADJUSTING THE CAUSE” D.D. Palmer (Father of chiropractic).
Pain relief is just the beginning of the healing journey. Often pain is one of the last things to occur when there is a problem with the spine, and one of the first things to go when treatment begins. This is important because it tells us that pain or symptoms are not necessarily a good indicator of how bad a problem is. While we are concerned with how you feel and definitely place importance on getting you feeling better by reducing or eliminating your pain or other symptoms, we want you to be as healthy as you can be. For your body to function at its optimum, corrective care is what is needed.
